THE OFFICE WHERE
AI AGENTS CLOCK IN

Rudy OS wraps the CLI coding agents you already pay for, Claude Code, Codex, Gemini and more, and runs them as one office on your Mac: memory, mail, a task board, and a boss named Rudy who routes the work. Nothing metered.

HOW THE OFFICE RUNS

The real loop, drawn. Work comes in from anywhere, Rudy turns it into contracts, the floor runs under guardrails, and exactly one thing escalates: the call only you can make.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU HIRE

Hire, hand over the job, watch the floor clock in. Three moves, then the office runs itself.

The Add Agent sheet in Rudy OS: cast grid, name and color
01

Hire an agent

Contract, face and name, workspace, engine. Pick from the cast or write your own role. Every hire comes loaded with skills, memory, a mailbox and a desk.

02

Give Rudy the job

Talk to Rudy in his terminal, in plain words. He writes the cards, assigns them and routes the work. Ask him to hire and he staffs the floor himself.

The floor clocks in

Statuses flip, the board fills, cards land on done with their results attached. Every agent keeps a record you can open later.

WHAT EVERY HIRE GETS

Not a chat window with a costume. Each agent is a real process with a real desk and everything a colleague would have.

🧠

Memory

Markdown-first memory with instant semantic recall. What an agent learns on Tuesday it still knows in March.

✉️

A mailbox

Agents message each other through the hive. Work gets handed off desk to desk, and you can read every envelope.

🗂️

A task board

A shared kanban Rudy writes to: todo, doing, blocked, done. Every card keeps its result as the record.

💻

A real terminal

Byte-for-byte authentic sessions in real PTYs. Type into any of them at any time, it is still your CLI.

Triggers

Schedules, webhooks and watched channels wake the right agent while you sleep. The office has opening hours: all of them.

🛡️

Guardrails

Spend caps, a circuit breaker for loops, and human gates on destructive moves. Autonomy with a leash you hold.

BRING THE AGENTS YOU ALREADY PAY FOR

Rudy runs them on their own subscriptions and their own hourly limits. No new API bill, no middleman metering your tokens.

Plus bring-your-own API keys and local models. Every engine runs in a real terminal, byte for byte, rendered inside the office.

LOCAL FIRST. OPEN SOURCE. NOTHING METERED.

Local first

Your keys, your folders, your machine. Agents run as processes on your Mac. No server, no account, no telemetry phoning home. The only traffic is what your agents themselves do.

Open source

MIT licensed, every line readable. Trust is not a promise here, it is a diff.

Nothing metered

No seat price, no token markup, no usage dashboard to dread. Your agents run on the subscriptions you already have.

Free. Not a trial, not a tier. You already pay for the agents; the office costs nothing.
faq

THE QUESTIONS EVERYONE ASKS

Does my code or data leave my machine?

No. Agents run as processes on your Mac, in your folders, with your keys. There is no server and no account. The only network traffic is what your agents themselves do, plus a read-only check for updates.

Will this eat my Claude subscription limits?

It runs on the plans you already have, so yes, working agents use them, exactly as if you ran the CLI yourself. You decide how much: per-agent token caps, a floor-wide budget, and a pause button for the whole office. Nothing is marked up and nothing is metered by us.

Can agents step on each other's work?

Each hire can get its own git branch in an isolated worktree, so two agents never type over each other. Rudy integrates the branches and runs the final check before anything merges.

What stops an agent from going rogue?

A circuit breaker watches every agent and steps in when one loops or overspends: steer first, then constrain, then stop. Destructive moves can be gated behind your click, and spend caps are hard limits, not suggestions.

Do I have to babysit it?

No. Anything that truly needs you lands on the NEEDS YOU board as a question, and a desktop toast tells you who finished what. Everything else keeps moving while the app sits in the background.

How is this different from five terminal tabs?

Fair question, several tools let sessions coordinate now. The difference is the office around them: a boss who plans and routes the work so you do not have to, a shared task board where every card keeps its result, memory that survives the session, mailboxes for handoffs, spend caps and a circuit breaker, and mixed engines in one team, Claude Code next to Codex next to Gemini. All of it is plain files on your Mac you can read with cat.

What do I need installed?

A Mac and at least one CLI coding agent you already use, for example Claude Code. Rudy OS finds it and runs it. More engines can be added anytime in settings.

Is it Mac only?

Today, yes: one universal build for Apple Silicon and Intel. Windows and Linux builds are planned, and the build configs already sit in the repo.

Is it really free?

Yes. Free and open source under MIT, not a trial and not a tier. You already pay for the agents; the office costs nothing.
